Helloo!! Welcome back or welcome to my blog! In this blog post, we are taking a deeper look into my group and I's new movie plan in terms of a mood board. As we met up to create our new plan, my group and I also did a deep-dive into Pinterest to grasp the type of vibe we want to convey with our film. Because of this, we created a collaborative Pinterest board, thus giving us the perfect pictures to use for our mood board!
So as you can see, the general vibe for our project's new mood board is one full of an adolescent spirit, friendship, liveliness, but is simultaneously full of yearning, sadness, and change.
For most of the pictures we chose, we showcase a girl group having a good time at the gas station, driving around, and getting glammed up together - All components we plan to incorporate in our flashback scenes. Throughout this types of scenes, we are showcasing warm and comforting natural light to set an atmosphere that is familiar and homey, representing the girls' sense of home they find in one another. Not only this, but in the flashback scenes that aren't exactly during the day, we still want to emphasize the vibrancy of color to keep up that youthful, sweet life vibe. Most of these scenes are set up in a way where my group and I's acting will come naturally! We shoot in our friend's room, at the gas station, in a hotel room, etc... All of which we are able to goof around and be ourselves, just like our characters would. Because of this, I'm veryyy much optimistic about the mood we will create.
Here are some pics of US that perfectly fit this vibe to prove to ya'll we barely have to act for the flashback scenes... We already lived it !!
Alternatively, for our present- day scenes, we are highlighting the point in time where the girls are separating from what feels like and endless summer, to now head into a pivotal stage in their life without each other. Given this context, these scenes will feel empty, sad, and cold. As seen in our mood board, we include each college that the girls will be going to, but to specifically state them... Vale(Mariana) is attending UCF, Yve (Nahomy) is attending FSU, Eli(Phi) is attending UF, and Maria (yours truly😏😏) is attending USF. Also in these present day scenes, we include shots of Vale packing up her childhood/ hometown room, evoking the sense of sadness within the realization that this change is happening. The stacked boxes and the last few bits of her belongings scattered around the room really sink in that effect.
