26.) Editing

Helloo!! Welcome back or welcome to my blog! In today's post, we are going to be focusing on the editing of our project. As you all know, I have joined a group and completely changed my plan for the film opener. I know, I know, I sound like a broken record, but I feel the need to preface this because this change has been a hugee domino effect. When it came to shooting, my group and I had to start immediately; Literally IMMEDIATELY!! We discussed an finalized our idea on a Thursday, that saturday we immediately began filming. We met up early in the day around 1o'clock pm and worked all the way till about 10pm. Because of this time crunch, we also had to start editing immediately.

                                            Our editor Mariana,

a little pic in case you forgot who she was😉

Got straight to work. In addition, Phi also stayed even later at Mari's house to help her edit. They used Capcut as our designated editing software. We all decided Capcut would be the best to use because for one, we were all familiar with how to use it, and two, it provides a lot of editing options in terms of effects and templates, giving us wide creative freedom to spice up our film if needed. This is only if needed though, I doubt we will use a lot of effects; As a group we really want to emphasize the color scheme in our flashback and present day shots to showcase that stark contrast between the "then and now" in our story.

Phi and Mariana worked together to create the initial rough draft the beginning of our film with the clips we had shot that day. They texted our groupchat for Nahomy and I's input, but when we opened the video, there was no audio... They told us they were having problems overlaying the sound into the clips. They figured out how to re-add the audio to the clips after a bit of trial and error. They ended up overlaying it as a new clip instead of trying to add it into the audio that was already there. After a bit, Phi had left Mari's house and she was left to add final touches by herself. If there's anyone that I'm sure knows their way around anything technological, it's definitely Mariana, so we knew whatever she came up with was going to be good. Although the rest of us weren't physically there, we assured Mariana she could always ask for help or alternate with one of us to edit.
