22.) My shooting so far

Helloo! Welcome back or welcome to my blog!! In this post I will be discussing how my shooting process has been so far + the trials and tribulations I have faced.

So, I decided to shoot all of my night scenes in one night. Not that I wanted to rush or anything, but I wanted each scene to feel seamless and consistent in one night, just as it fits into the plot. Since the darkness of the night stays pretty consistent after sun down, I really wanted to take my time and be meticulous and creative with my scenes. To my favor, this is exactly what happened. Once I started getting familiar with my location, the creative juices just started flowing.

First, I started out directly on the beach- where some of my montage scenes take place. I went to the beach on December 24 around 7pm, and surprisingly for South Florida, the weather was quite chilly and windy. Although the costuming for both characters consisted of short sleeves and shorts, the weather was bearable. The wind however was a bit intense, but when I started checking my scenes for adjustments, I actually liked what the wind added to the shots. Also, music will be played over these scenes, so the ambient noise of the beach was irrelevant. Everything was going very well until... it started raining😿😿

When it started to rain, we had to rush the last few scenes which was a little bit stressful. Once we got off the beach, we stilled needed to shoot the on-the-road shots I had planned.

As shown, the streets were wet and shiny. But luckily, the rain din't last long and the beach scenes were all done.

Additionally, when it comes to my editing process, I have already begun. Throughout this process, I have made a lottt of switches. I've tried sequences out and didn't like it, I've switched it and I didn't like it, I've switched it again... and I didn't like it. I'm still currently trying to figure out what I like. Additionally, I'm having a little bit of hard time fitting what I want to showcase into a short two -minute video. I have a lot of footage and a lot of ideas, so it's become slightly overwhelming trying to create something I love.
