16.) Brain to paper- Initial Storyboard of Final Project

Helloo! Welcome back or welcome to my blog!! In this post, I will be presenting my initial storyboard for my movie opener.

 ⬇⬇⬇

For my film, I plan to fade into the first scene with a black screen. This is when I want the opening credits to start rolling as well ( Director, cast, editor, etc.) The beginning of the song, Time to Pretend by MGMT will also be playing. When the beat drops, there will be a smash cut to the next scene where the girls are shown driving in the night, listening to music and laughing. As the credits continue to roll rhythmically on screen corresponding to the music, a warm, vibrant color palette is used. I want to incorporate a vintage-looking film filter over each scene.

Next, the montage begins. During the montage the song picks up in beat and speed with quick fade ins and outs of black to the scenes. This montage showcases what the girls do during this particular night. This includes getting slushies, running on the beach, and driving around. Then, I want the music to slightly fade out and the camera to switch to a handheld shot by Juna-Rose. This will act as a video Juna is taking on her camera with her and Cleo on the beach- In the story line, Juna likes to document and record special moments while Cleo hates the camera. I want this scene to give the audience a glimpse into their character traits and how they differ. Then, there will be a dramatic smash cut to a black screen with an overlapping audio of Juna telling Cleo to say cheese while laughing.

Next, there will be a close-up of Cleo in her car with a sharp breathe entering the audio. This will show the contrast from the past and present and marks the beginning of the present. There will be a pan in her POV of her surroundings - Her car is parked with the view of a road ahead and with grassy plains at each side. Again, this further marks the present tense with the noticeable contrast of night and day. The day will feel blinding and bright.

Lastly , it will show Cleo getting out the car. With this scene, I was also thinking to get a ground shot of the camera tracking her feet as she walks onto the grass. At the last scene, a tombstone head is shown. Following, a smash cut to black and silence with the title of the film fading in. I really want this to sink in a dramatic  effect, leaving the audience concerned and infinitely curious.
