Helloo!! Welcome back or welcome to my blog! I'm excited to introduce to you all my new story board😛😛. Specifically pertaining to my group, this is our new storyboard, but not the same new we were supposed to show... if that makes sense... Let me explain. The stage in our project that we are SUPPOSED to be on is having created an updated storyboard covering the same plot as our initial storyboard, but updated possibly due to change in scene sequence, maybe a change in editing, etc.. However, OUR new storyboard in an initial storyboard of our new plot since we all grouped together later in the production process. So, it's new, but not exactly updated since we basically restarted everything; We will get to the updated storyboard later...
Here it is!

Let's break it down:
Beginning
So as you can observe in the storyboard, our film opens with a close up if the radio, with our main character Vale turning up the volume. This is to introduce the setting as well as the soundtrack. Of course, this scene takes a couple second to allow the audience to be able to read the words.
Next, we smash cut to introduce the characters. The next scene shows Vale and Eli with Vale in the drivers seat riding around. Then, another smash cut to Maria propped up with her upper body out of the window. She is seen smiling and waving her hands with her hand flowing. One smash cut later, Yve is seen out of the sunroof also with her arms out, joyfully absorbing the sun and breeze. This really emphasizes that free, youthful, summery vibe. This also marks the beginning of our flashback scenes, therefore the color scheme is warm with orange and yellow hues, conveying that golden hour mood. Also, since we have to fit all of this lore into two minutes, these scenes will be pretty quick like a montage.
Beginning-Middle
Continuing the flashback sequence, there is a cut on action transitioning to the girls frolicking about at the gas station. This scene was filmed at night, so although it is a bit more dark, the colorful hues and saturation are even brighter and vibrant. This scene doesn't exactly have a fixed direction- We literally just went to the gas station, opened some snacks, and hung out with a camera recording us. We include scenes of the girls playing around, throwing candy into each others mouths, and drinking slushies.
Middle
Now, we transition to the present day scenes. We use a cut on action to transition again, but this time, the scene following shows a stark contrast from the one prior. In these scenes, there is a higher angle shot pointing down at Vale packing up boxing with her belongings. It showcases her rummaging through old pictures of the friend group, few of her lingering childhood relics, and her stacking up the rest of her moving boxes. Then, we have a match cut of the exact angle showing the boxes stacked, to a flashback of that same position but this time with the room filled with life, showing the girls getting ready for a party with makeup, drinks, and clothes scattered. We were really excited for this scene because it shows our ability to utilize other shots and transitions other than a smash cut, elevating the film a bit.
End
Ending everything off, we close with first a flashback of the girls in a hotel room from when they were touring colleges year prior. In this, they were laughing, putting on face masks, and basically having a slumber party. Then, there is an a high angle shot of the girls hugging in a circle. This transitions through a match cut to the present day with the girls hugging in a circle, but this time they are hugging each other goodbye at their last summer hangout😢😢. They are seen wearing their college hoodies, which really solidifies this big change. Lastly, there is a quick sequence of match cuts showing the parallels of each girl standing in front of their own college ready to go in. When it gets to the last girl (Vale aka main character) there is a dolly in following her closer to the front then BOOM smash cut to black screen and enter title sequence!!!
