Jump Cut-
When filming this shot, I had to prop my camera (iPhone) onto a tall object to get a higher angle of the shot. To make sure I had enough variety of footage, for about 30 seconds I rummaged through the book quickly to create a sense of urgency and franticness. To edit, I clipped small parts of the video and put it all together in a different order. I'm happy with the mood of franticness that I was able to convey.๐
Cut in-
For this scene, I first filmed a fuller shot of a wall in my room. I then filmed a separate shot of a zoomed- in cut of a specific picture frame. I simply put the shots together one after the other. I wanted to convey a dramatic effect, suggesting a deeper meaning behind the cut-in picture.๐ผ
Wipe-
To get this video, I first filmed my cat standing by a doorframe. As soon as I finished recording, she moved spots in the house, so I took it as an opportunity for another shot. For the second shot, I quickly grabbed on of her toys to make sure she didn't run away. When I crouched down to record her, she was already curious to what I was doing and was sniffing me, so she stayed in the shot. I then rolled the toy which attracted her to it. I used a video cut app to apply the wipe transition from one shot to the next. I wanted to convey a change in mood through her stillness in the first shot, and her playfulness in the second.๐ผ
